Today I found this photo of Bill Gates.
According to All That Is Interesting, the photo is dated 1983.. and it struck me: I was born in 1983! This guy was already working on the stuff that made computers so accessible for many of us. What an wonderful way to be able to touch so many lives without even knowing. Clearly, this guy is a little wheel in the mechanics of my destiny. Without his work, I would probably not be who I am today and I don’t think I would have meet my amazing husband (banging on a computer keyboard).
William Henry “Bill” Gates III was born in 28 October 1955 and no later than 1975, his amazing journey of changing the world, began. He and his buddy Paul Allen started Microsoft, the company that made him one of the best known entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution. The rest is history…
Nowadays, Bill & Melinda Gates, thru their Foundation established in 2000, are involved in a number of philanthropic endeavors, donating large amounts of money to various charitable organizations and scientific research programs.
If my son reads this blog post, this is for him: “Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.” (Bill Gates quote)
Follow him and his notes… this is one of the guys that really have something to say! Gates Notes – the Blog of Bill Gates.
Who are the people that touched your life without even knowing? Tell me. I want to know!
